Oshun Parrot Feather Smudge Wand
This smudge fan was inspired by the goddess Oshun.
Using Scarlet Mccaw feathers, red deer skin, and a tangerine quartz point this wand came together as if each piece had always been a part of the other.
The handle is copper on the inside and is wrapped with deer skin. At the bottom is round piece of green opal.
Oshun is known as the Yoruban Goddess of love, who reigns over love, intimacy, beauty, for healing the sick and bringing fertility and prosperity.
She was at one time the wife of Shango, the storm god, as was Oya, the goddess of the winds and tempests. Oshun is also said to be the mother of the birds
Some of her symbols are mirrors, honey, golden silks and feather fans.
Tangerine Quartzis a fiery stone and is known for it’s ability stimulate one’s creativity and passion.
Copper:is an excellent energy conductor which is why I decided to use it for all of my smudge wands. Copper is also known for it’s ability to assist it’’s user to clear the path for love and healing energy which is why I feel it makes a great conductor for smudging.
Deer:Deer’s special medicine is gentleness, gracefulness and the ability to listen. The Hind (the red female deer), called Eilid in the Gaelic language, symbolizes femininity, subtlety and gracefulness.
Parrot: Parrots represent all of the colors of the sun and because of their special ability to speak parrots medicine offers the user the ability to understand others more effectively.
Green Opal is great for meditating and relaxing as well as being a heart chakra stone.
This wand measures 22" from the tip of the longest feather to the bottom of the crystal.
Each of my smudge wands comes with a bunch hand harvested and tied, wild sage from the Okanagan Vally here in B.C.
