*New*Deer Antler Medicine Rattle

This deer antler rattle is made with deer Skin and dyed with beets and pomegranate juice to make the skin is a bright and rich red. I filled the rattle with Painted corn that I harvested last year and dried for this very use.

The antler was cut from a larger rack that was gifted to me from my brother who lives in northern Ontario. Using antlers for sacred crafting is an ancient tradition and something very special to own. It is wonderful to know exactly where these antlers come from and I have made my best effort to use them in a sacred  way.

The fur around the top of the rattle is wolf fur that I bought locally from a trusted supplier.

Deer:Deer’s special medicine is gentleness, gracefulness and the ability to listen. The Hind (the red female deer), called Eilid in the Gaelic language, symbolizes femininity, subtlety and gracefulness.

Wolf: is said to be one of the great mystic teachers and is here to help us to adapt to changes in our lives. Wolf shows us the value in transformation, and helps us to use our Intuition and to trust our decisions.
Aligned with the moon energies it is said that wolf teaches us to embrace the wild feminine energies within ourselves, as well as our darker sides.

Corn: Since ancient times corn {maize}has been held as being most sacred and represents the goddess of fertility. To the ancient Mayan each kernel of corn was considered sacred and not to be wasted. This was because they believed that corn not only contains the power to sustain us, but also represents the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth.
