Before making any tool such as drums or rattles, I first smudge and offer a prayer to the animal that sacrificed itself for this special work.
It is important that the essence of the animal that gave up it’s skin know that it is being used in the creation of sacred tools.
The skin is from the Elk and the hoop used is made is cedar which is known as a sacred tree here in North America and comes with a beater.
Elk attributes are:Stamina, Strength, Nobility, Elk teaches us how to pace ourselves.
The handle of the drum is covered with black deer leather for comfort and ease while holding it for long periods of time.
All of the drums come with a hand made beater and are packaged carefully in a sturdy box and marked Fragile.
