The creation of a wedding ceremony is an important one, as couples share with their family and friends their dedication of love.
My passion is handcrafting a ceremony that is as unique as your love for your partner, what this means is that I only take a small number of weddings each year and that each couple I work with receive something that not only will they remember and cherish, but a ceremony that their family friends and community will also remember for a very long time.
It is my belief that ceremony part of a wedding is actually the
most important part of this special day, but it is also one that often
gets the most overlooked and the least amount of money is usually spent
on it. This is such a shame because the ceremony is what bonds you and
your partner together, it is what invites your community into that love
and reminds them of the commitment you are making on this special and
sacred day.
My training:
I am a legally ordained minister, qualified to perform weddings,
funerals and ceremonies. I am also a priestess and Certified Life Cycle
Celebrant with the respected Celebrant Foundation & Institute. I have been involved in creating ritual and ceremonies for the past 10 years.
Each time I create a wedding ceremony is a unique process of getting to know each couple and then working together for several meetings to create a ceremony unique to them.
I wrote a little about my process in becoming a Celebrant at My Blog if you are interested in reading a little more.
Celebrants are trained professionals who believe in the
power and effectiveness of ceremony and ritual to serve basic needs of society
and the individual.
Celebrants officiate at personalized nondenominational, same-sex, spiritual and multicultural wedding ceremonies. As a celebrant I will help you create a ceremony that reflects the beliefs and traditions you find important.
The Celebrant's mission is to help the client create a ceremony that reflects his or her beliefs, philosophy of life, and personality. The beliefs of the Celebrant are immaterial in this process.
We so enjoyed the few
months she worked with us to create, review and adapt our perfect
ceremony. Leading up to the wedding, she was organized and helped us
with everything from creating a special altar to providing guidance
about music and sound.
On the day of the wedding, Nikiah's
presence was a sound and grounded addition. She arrived early, brought
her own special additions to add to our altar and even came with
homeopathics for nerves! During the ceremony, she held the space, was
warm, light-hearted, endearing and made all of our guests feel
comfortable. Many of the guests have since them commented on the
ceremony and how unique and beautiful is was.
We could not have
asked for a more perfect officiant for our ceremony and are so grateful
to have had someone who supported us in making it the sacred ceremony we
had dreamed of. Natalie and Nic
